Hi,
We will going to your lovely city in early June, We are looking for reasonable accomodations and wondered if this hotel is in a safe area.
We will probably stay for 6-7 days and any thoughts would be appreciated.
Biltmore Suites
My brother lives in Baltimore and gave me these boundaries to use when searching for a hotel in the Inner Harbor area:
Do NOT go West of Howard OR North of Fayette
Biltmore is right in the middle of this area to avoid. (Thus the inexpensive price)
Biltmore Suites
Far be it from me to contradict a well-meaning brother, but the Biltmore is actually in a fairly decent area. Mount Vernon is not a ';bad'; area by any means. Would I want to stay there for a 6-7 night stay? Hmmmm...I%26#39;d have to think about it if the focus of my visit was touring the usual sights, because you%26#39;d have to ';commute'; to most of them via light rail, bus, or taxi.
It is, of course, in a big city. And you won%26#39;t find crowds of people thronging the streets at night. So you would be aware of that and take cabs at night, that kind of thing.
Giving somewhat arbitrary boundaries like ';don%26#39;t go west of Howard Street'; would actually eliminate several decent properties. The new Hampton Inn at Camden Yards and the yet-to-open new HIlton Convention Center among others.
