We are planning a visit to family who live just outside of DC in late May and are thinking of a stopping for a few nights in Baltimore along the way since we have never been. I think the weather should be decent that time of year for outside strolling, dining etc. My question is would there be enough to do in the Inner Harbor area to justify staying overnight or should we just make it a day pit stop instead? Our kids are 4.
Also any family friendly hotel recs in a good location that will not break the bank? Thanks!
Inner Harbor with kids
You could definitely find enough to do for an overnight. Any of the major hotels in the Inner Harbor would be fine. May rates will not be cheap though. Renassiance, marriott, the new hampton Inn[ Greene St and Washington Blvd } Days Inn, Radisson- try Priceline or Expedia. You could stay in the Inner Harbor area so you won%26#39;t need a car- Maryland Science Center with Imax, National Aquarium, paddle boats n the Harbor, taxi ride to the B+O railroad Museum [{about 1 1/2 miles away from harbor}, Port Discovery, Constellation tour, ESPN Zone[ batting cages, virtual video games, water taxi ride over to Fells Point. There is lots of shopping and restaurants abound.
Inner Harbor with kids
There%26#39;s enough to do at the Inner Harbor to stay overnight. It%26#39;s beautiful!
The National Aquarium is awsome for kids. The Science Center is great too. There are small boat rides and shuttles around the harbor.
The Holiday Inn is not too far from the harbor and reasonable.
