26th street

Have used this board before to book a vacation with good success so here goes again. Have been looking at Ocean City online and think that it looks great for our family who will have a bunch of older teens with us. Have found a townhouse online to rent that is at 26th street. Is this a good place to be? Owners says close to boardwalk, and walk to beach. We are from Massachusetts and even though we have great beaches, its boring year after year. All the things on the Boardwalk looked great for teens and me! Ok, so howare the waves? Big? Water warm? Thanks, this will be an August vacation.

August puts you in the peak season in OC the water should be warm and comfortable.

OC in most parts of town is just 4 blocks wide from bay to ocean so no matter where you are located on 26th you will be close to the beach.

26th street also puts you right on the nrothern end of the Boardwalk.

It is about 2 1/2 miles north to south and you also have a tram running up and down the Boardwalk to use if you aren%26#39;t up to the walk.

For your needs this location sounds to me like an ideal spot.

The southern end of the Boardwalk is the most busy with large crowds all day and well into the night.

26th street sould be a little less crowded but in August there won%26#39;t be much free space.

OC runds north and south from the inlet up to the Del. border almost 144 blocks so 26 th street puts you close to most of the major attractions near the beach and should serve you just fine.

Have a safe and enjyable trip be prepared for big crowds and lots of aaction.

You will have great fun. I have really good memories of my vacations with my family in OC each year. The nice thing is the teens can roam up and down the boardwalk on their own if they want some '; without'; mom time and it is very safe. I would suggest that some one go out early in the am and ';stake a claim'; on the beach[ blankets and a chair or 2}, then you can go back to the hotel and have breakfast. Your stuff will be fine unattended . August is prime time and the beach can get crowded quickly. Depending on the wind and tide, the waves can be pretty rough , but you also have a good chance of more calm surf. We always have a good time body surfing or using a boogie board to ride the waves in. OC is also known for having rip tides so be careful and check the surf warnings. There is also lots to do off the boardwalk, so check the visitors guides when you get there.
