The Hilton - location

We%26#39;re looking at booking the Hilton for a long weekend in June. I%26#39;m reading mixed ';reviews'; here and would like some clarification. Is the Hilton not on the boardwalk? If it isn%26#39;t, how far away from the boardwalk is it? Is it near any other attractions?

And - what all does the boardwalk in Ocean City have to offer?

This will be our first trip so we%26#39;re really not sure what to expect - but the kids (and us) are really excited to go!

The Hilton - location

The Hilton is NOT located on the Boardwalk.

The Boardwalk runs from the inlet (southern end) up to 26th street.

The Hilton is located on or around 30th.

You could walk down to 26th street but that would put you at the northern most end and it is rather quiet with most of the attractions and activities especially for kids located at the southern end.

There is a tram that runs all day on the Boardwalk that you can take from one end to the other. It costs a few dollars per person.

Depending on the age of your kids there is an amusement park directly across the Coastal Highway on 28th street from the Hilton.

The Coastal Highway runs north and south through the entire town 1st-144st so you would be on 30th.

To visit attractions you could either walk , take the Boardwalk tram,

rent a bike and ride, drive, or take the bus service that runs all day along the Coastal Highway.

Hope this helps.

Any questions feel free to ask away.

Thanks Bingo42!

The kids are 4 and six (both boys) so we%26#39;re interested in attractions suited for children of those ages. It looks like the Hilton is very family oriented so I%26#39;m pretty sure that%26#39;s where we%26#39;re going to be staying. I just wanted to know how conveniently located it is.

From the candid traveler photos posted here, it seems like it has a nice beach so that alone is worth a lot to us.

Elaine:

I think the Hilton will serve you just fine.

The site above will give you some information about the OC area and things to do.

The Hilton has a pool.

The beach.

The Boardwalk.

Down at the southern end you will find some old time amusements with carosels (sp) Ripleys Believe it or Not, games, rides and food.

For two boys your sons age they should have a blast.

You could also make a short trip to Assateague to see the wild ponies runing around.

You have Anthony%26#39;s sub shop located right at the corner from the Hilton and Coastal Highway and right across the street Restaurant Antipasto (sp) thought by some to be the best Italian food in OC for dinner.

I hope this helps.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip.

Some more information for you.

One last suggestion they have two huge speedboats that will take you for a ride into the Atlantic your boys would most likely enjoy that.

One is called I believe is called the OC Rocket and the other name escapes me.

When you get into town you should stop by one of the shops, stores or hotels and pick up some of the FREE local papers there are several they list all the places to eat along with the activities for the time you will be there.

Don%26#39;t forget that Jolley Roger Water and Amusement Park is located just two blocks west across Baltimore Avenue and Coastal Highway.
