Hotel Near Cruise Dock

I need help finding a moderately priced hotel near the harbor as we are taking a cruise leaving June 1st. Also, is a cab the best way to get there from the airport in the evening?

Unless you plan on doing some sightseeing before your cruise that Friday, I%26#39;d think about just staying near the airport the night you fly in. You%26#39;re not all that much closer to the Marine Terminal than you would be staying at the Inner Harbor (you%26#39;ll need a taxi to the Terminal--which isn%26#39;t near the IH--wherever you stay).

Most of the airport hotels offer a free shuttle and you%26#39;re more likely to hit your price target there than at the IH.

If you decide to stay at the IH--and those are the closest hotels to the Terminal worth recommending--there%26#39;s plenty of IH hotel discussion in this forum. Since you%26#39;ll be relying on a taxi to get to the ship, no one hotel would be substantially closer than another.

To get to an IH hotel in the evening and/or loaded down with luggage for a cruise, you%26#39;ll definitely want to taxi there.

One other thing to consider--I%26#39;ve never stayed, but the closest lodging of any type to the Marine Terminal is a highly-regarded (outstanding reviews here on TA as well as in the media) B%26amp;B in Canton.

Thanks, Tubman, for the reply. We will be arriving at 5pm so I don%26#39;t want to stay near the airport. Your information that the cruise dock is not the same as Inner Harbor is helpful. We are presently booked at the Radisson Plaza Lord Baltimore which I hope is okay for one night.

A friend of mine stayed quite some time at that hotel while her husbank was at Hopkins and she said very nice things about it. It is an older building with a nice lounge area/bar downstairs. It is convenient location and is close to the Inner Harbor... but tubman was corect in saying that the cruise ships are not near the IH and there really aren%26#39;t any hotels by the cruise terminal. The cruise terminal is right off of 95/Ft McHenry tunnel. I wave to the ship every other Friday during the summer as I haul my butt to work :-)

Thanks for the input. We haven%26#39;t made reservations anywhere yet but will have the evening and the next morning to sightsee before we go to the cruise dock. Is the Inner Harbor the best area to stay for a Thursday evening and Friday morning or do you recommend somewhere else?

That would be a good idea for that limited time
