Does anyone know how much a taxi ride from the Baltimore airport

to the Hyatt in Bethesda will be.

Thanks.

The bwiairport.com site says $57 to Silver Spring. So just guessing I%26#39;d have to add another $10 to that. Plus tip, of course.

If you%26#39;re looking to save, I would reccomend not taking a cab. You can easily take public transportation to the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda. You can take the MARC train from BWI to Union Station in Washington, DC. It costs $6.00 and takes just under forty minutes. You can then take Metro%26#39;s Red Line from Union Station to Bethesda, which costs $1.85 during regular hours or $2.45 during peak hours (basically rush hour in the morning and afternoon) and takes about twenty minutes. The hotel is just steps from the metro. I think that a cab ride from BWI to the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda would take about forty five minutes, give or take traffic. It might be a bit faster than public transportation, but not by much.

Here are some links to help you plan your trip, if you do decide to take the train and metro.

MARC train website: http://www.mtamaryland.com/services/marc/

(You%26#39;ll want to use the Penn Line to get from BWI to DC)

Metro%26#39;s website: http://www.wmata.com/

MARC and Metrorail is certainly an economical option, but it%26#39;s not quite as quick and easy as the previous poster suggests.

First, MARC trains run only Monday-Friday. So if you%26#39;re traveling on a weekend, MARC isn%26#39;t an option and you%26#39;ll need to use the more expensive (~$18) Amtrak train. With two or more passengers, the fare adds up quickly.

You also need to add waiting and travel time for the shuttle bus from the BWI terminal to the train, which is a few miles away. And time to walk through Union Station to connect from MARC to Metro.

The MARC trains run on average about once per hour, so if you%26#39;re a minute late for the MARC train, you can add an hour to your total travel time.

If the stars are perfectly aligned--you walk out of the terminal to the find a shuttle bus waiting, then the MARC train is waiting for you at station, and then you make a perfect connection at the Metro at Union Station, you%26#39;re looking at perhaps 1 hour 15 minutes total travel time to your hotel vs. a typical 45 minutes in a taxi. More likely--with an average 1/2 hour wait for the MARC train--your door-to-door from the terminal to the Hyatt will be closer to two hours than one.
