Inner Harbour Area

Going to be driving to Baltimore for a couple of games at Camden Yards in mid April. Never been to Baltimore and don%26#39;t know anything about the area. Is the area aroung the stadium and Inner Harbour a good/safe part of downtown?

If so, would like to stay right near the stadium and so far, it looks like the Hampton Inn at Camden Yards for moderate price and the Marriott Inner Harbour for a little higher price are the best for location. Anyone have any other suggestions within a couple of blocks that is a better value than the Hampton?

Thanks!

I think the Hampton Inn is your best bet--it%26#39;s steps away from Camden Yards. It%26#39;s also a brand new hotel--it opened this past fall. The one thing you might want to check on is parking--I believe they have a small parking lot behind the hotel but when that%26#39;s full, they have valet parking.

The area around there is pretty safe and it is within walking distance of the Inner Harbor (but you may want to take cabs around if you want to go any further than that--even though you%26#39;ll have your car, parking can be tough downtown).

Check out some of the Go Lists on this site- will give you some good ideas for stuff to do. The new Hampton Inn would be great- soooo close to stadium- you might catch a foul ball from your window! Any of the hotels right in the Inner Harbor would be fine. Typical of most big cities- use common sense and you will be fine. Area is next to the University of Maryland downtown campus so there is lots of activity.
