Baltimore hotels which of these to choose from

We are looking to visit Baltimore this summer for a 3nt stay and are trying to figure out which hotel to stay in. We are a family of 4

So far we are considering the following locations

Marriott Baltimore Waterfront

Hyatt (most expensive)

Sheraton Baltimore City

Sheraton Inner Harbour

Holiday Inn Inner Harbour (least expensive)

Can anyone shed some light on which would be best to stay in based on location, upkeep of rooms, etc Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Have you checked the reviews for these properties here on TA?

(If you do a search use ';harbor'; instead of ';harbour'; or you might end up in England lol)

My opinions:

Marriott Waterfront: Easily the newest and probably ';snazziest'; of the properties you%26#39;re looking at. But slightly further from many of the Inner Harbor attractions. If the rate is good I%26#39;d grab it, it%26#39;s a nice place.

Sheraton Baltimore City: Used to be a Whyndham, before that an Omni, before that a Hilton...and always considered less than stellar under any name. Unless Sheraton has done a major rehab, I%26#39;d skip it. Also probably the least convenient of the places on your list.

Hyatt and Sheraton Inner Harbor: Location, location, location. Can%26#39;t beat it. Close to the waterfront, walking distance to Camden Yards. But I know nothing of the rooms.

Holiday Inn: Probably a reason why this is the cheapest. Across the street from the firehouse. Tied with the Sheraton for being the least convenient, as you have to walk several blocks to get to the Inner Harbor area. I was in their room about a year ago, the rooms were basic and what you would expect from a HI.

FYI -

I%26#39;m a fairly frequent user of Hotwire and the Hyatt comes up on that website rather regularly. If you%26#39;d like some assistance in identifying it on Hotwire, give me your anticipated dates of stay and I%26#39;m happy to see if ot comes up at this point in time. Just remember with Hotwire that there are no refunds - You pay when you book and that%26#39;s it.

Another option that I like when staying in Charm City is the Renaissance Harborplace. You cannot beat the location and if you get a deal that includes breakfast, it%26#39;s a very nice place to stay right on the Inner Harbor.

mccarthys5 - thank you for the offer

We are looking to go July 26 for 3 nights

I will check on the Renaissance too, thanks

Unfotunately the Renaissance is not coming up as available on the dates I am looking for, thanks for the suggestion

I checked Hotwire for your dates and nothing of any great value is coming up - you may want to wait a tad bit longer to see if some hotels release summer specials.

July 27 starts a series of Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees. (hiss...) Anyway, that will bring quite a few folks to town, and it might be why some of the rates are up, even this far in advance.

July 26 the O%26#39;s are playing Tampa Bay, I%26#39;m thinking that will draw considerably less :)

Agree with IrishFan. You might also check out a brand new hotel- only opened a few weeks ago, The Hampton Inn on the corner of Greene St and Washington Blvd. It is directly across the street from Oriole Park. It%26#39;s a smaller boutique hotel but it looks very nice and even tjough it it 2 blocks from the Inner Harbour, it is in a really good location.

marriott waterfront, no question.

The sheraton inner harbor is an older one, and somewhatrundown. the sheraton b%26#39;more city isn%26#39;t anywhere I%26#39;d want to venture out on my own after dark. The hyatt is less convenient in terms of location (not by much) though nice. I just don%26#39;t like holiday inn hotels(personal preference)

Marriott Waterfront is by far the nicest, a bit of a walk to the Harbor...but a nice walk around the waterfront. The Holiday Inn is not nice at all.

There are 2 Hampton Inns, the new one at Camden Yards and one on Redwwod Street. They both look nice and they are both in good locations.

The Hyatt has been completely renovated but IMO the Mariott is still a better property.
