We are planning a move to the area, do you guys get a lot of snow,
is this a quiet town.
are you friendly
i guess i will say we are from the south where southern hospitality is awesome, what about you,
we dont like big city type places
any suggestions on a town to move to we want lots lots and lots of snow.
moving to frostburg
I am not from Frostburg but I have visited there several times.
Frostburg is a small, quiet college town in the mountains of Western Maryland. While nothing can quite compete with Southern Hospitality, the folks in Frostburg are very friendly.
As for snow, be careful what you ask for because you may receive it. :) There is no shortage of snow in the Frostburg area.
moving to frostburg
Yep. Frostburg gets plenty of snow. Even when other parts of MD don%26#39;t Frostburg will.
As stated before it is a very quiet town (college town)
I don%26#39;t know about southern hospitality but it%26#39;s somewhat close. I know what southern hospitality is and it%26#39;s not exactly that.
Well thank you for your insight, and if anyone has any other info on the area let me know.
thanks. jannell
I have friends that live there and I have been many times.
Frostburg is a great place to live if you like outdoor activities such as skiing, hunting, hiking, fishing, kayaking, etc. You are close to ski resorts in PA and WVa, as well as Maryland%26#39;s Wisp. As the previous posts have said, Frostburg gets a lot snow--lake effect from the Great Lakes, Alberta Clippers and large storms coming up from the south hitting the cold air coming from the northwest. And it stays cold enough to stick around for quite awhile before it melts.
Also, at one time, Frostburg had more bars and more churches per person than any other town in the U.S. Go figure. I guess folks go to church to ask for forgiveness for all the things they do when they are at the bars.
well this sounds like a great place to live what about little kids is it good enough to raise a family in, we love the outdoors and snow. how is the schools, i will be going to the university, but element schools?
crime.
