Weather in May&June?

I realize no one can predict what the weather will be in two months, but we are thinking of visiting OC the week of Memorial Day, May 28 to June 1. I%26#39;m just wondering what the average , typical weather is that time of year. Is it usually warm enough to enjoy the beach and pool? Has anyone visited this time of year? My husbany, myself and our 4 year old are looking forward to a getaway. Thanks for any input.

I%26#39;d expect temps to be around 80 by day, which is fine for the beach. For me, if the sun is shining, the beach is tolerable with temps as low as 60.

Your personal preferences will dictate how you feel about the water--ocean temps will be around 60, which is way too cold for me (I won%26#39;t even attempt the ocean until late June). Unheated pool temps will likely be just a little warmer than that.

I%26#39;ve been living in the area for the last 10 years and I can remember Memorial Day weekends that were 95 degrees and sunny and Memorial Day weekends that were 55 degrees and rainy during that time span. That time of year is still unpredictable, but the previous poster did a good job describing the averages.

Never can tell.

I have planned so many Memorial day weekends on the eastern shore of MD to just have canceled them because it was raining and cold. I think in the past 8 years there has only been 2-3 that we have been able to swim in the water/pools and when it%26#39;s been warm enough. I agree with the previous post, you never know in these neck of the woods.
