Tidelands Caribbean or Plim Plaza Hotel

We are planning on visiting Ocean City Maryland this summer and would like any information out there on the Tidelands Caribbean Hotel and the Plim Plaza Hotel. Are they clean, are they noisy? Any information would be helpful. We are interested in staying on the boardwalk at 9th or above.

Tidelands Caribbean or Plim Plaza Hotel

I would definitely chose the Tidelands Carribbean on 5th Street. It is a nice, recently renovated hotel with two pools (one is a rooftop pool). I don%26#39;t understand some of the negative reviews of this hotel. Maybe some people expect the hotel to be the Ritz Carlton, which it isn%26#39;t, but it is also not a dump. I think that it is a perfectly fine place to stay that serves its purpose. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Tidelands Caribbean or Plim Plaza Hotel

Both places have their perks but Tidelands is a over- welming favorite. Plim Plaza has a huge pool and pool bar for hanging out during the day or live music during the evening hours. Negative of Plim Plaza are the rooms, they are out-dated, very small and no balcony. Check the reviews.

As for Tidelands the rooms are large and clean with balcony views of the beach or the pool in building #2. Tidelands has two pools, one rooftop and the other has the Blue Fin pool bar that serves great food. The price of the PlimPlaza is a little cheaper but the Tidelands gives you the over all better place to vacation.

In case your wondering I stayed at both.

Plim plaza is for a younger always out type people.

Tidelands is for family, couples or people who like to relax by the pool or on their beach front balcony. If had to choose it would be Tidelands..

Have stayed at both several years ago, Tidelands more recently. I would definately choose Tidelands.

I am speaking from firsthand experience....you do NOT want to stay at the Plim! Filthy, filthy, filthy! Vomit in hallway that noone would clean up. Bugs in the rooms. Leaking ceiling from toilets above you! Sinks falling off the wall! I could go on and on. Read the reviews. Only good point....great outdoor bar with great bartenders!

And the horrible smell from the Paul Revere buffet lingers in the rooms.

Tidelands all the way! My family loves the place so much, we stay there year after year. They have two beautiful pools and a poolbar which serves excellent food. The rooms are always clean, spacious, comfortable, and the oceanfront building has been recently renovated. The suites even have jacuzzi tubs. Great place for familes/couples.

The Plim Plaza is a dump. There are no balconies, the rooms are T-I-N-Y and unclean, the hotel restaurant (paul revere%26#39;s) is absolutely TERRIBLE, and the whole place is filthy and outdated. It may be a low price, but the whole ambience of the place is the pits.

I have stayed at both and the Plim Plaza is HORRIBLE. The air conditioner was leaky so the room smelled. And the room was tiny.

It%26#39;s a shame because the pool is nice.

Tidelands is wonderful. They are booked for when I wanted to go, I was so bummed because it%26#39;s a great deal. The rooms are large and have tile floors. This is what all beach hotels should do- it is what they do in the Caribbean and it keeps the rooms from getting that musty smell from wet carpet.

I have also stayed at the Monte Carlo. Also very clean.

I would definetely stay at the Tidelands. Two room suites, kitchenette, two pools, jacuzzi tubs in each suite, huge balconies, blue fin poolside bar and grill, and the rooms were spacious, nice, and clean. The Tidelands doesn%26#39;t even compare to the Plim Plaza.

The Plim Plaza has no balconies what-so-ever, the rooms are tiny, Paul Revere was HORRIBLE, and I would never stay there again.

Take your money to the Tidelands, you%26#39;ll like it there!!

Stay at the Tidelands...and one day go to the pool bar at the PlimPlaza (open to anybody) to enjoy the only good thing about the PlimPlaza....
