Thanks so much beachgirl1011.... I did notice there was no elevator and we are staying on the 2nd floor so I guess we will be using the stairs as well - but we don%26#39;t mind - it%26#39;s good exercise! We have friends staying at the Castle in the Sand across the highway. We can still use their beach and Coconut%26#39;s Bar %26amp; Grille... I%26#39;ve seen some posts on here with people stating they would NEVER come back to OC in August... Why is that? We%26#39;ve been down in June and July, and this year we thought we%26#39;d try August... Now I%26#39;m scared!!

Really don%26#39;t know except that it is SO CROWDED! The last week is not as bad as many of the schools districts have restarted, but it is packed.

Ariel - We go every year and August and the only two things that I can think of is it is usually extremely hot and I think the first two weeks are the Marlin tournament which makes it really crowded wherever you go. We love it during this time and we just take into consideration that the traffic will definitely take you longer to get where you are going!

August tend to be the busiest of OC because kids are going back to school or the end of summer is near. Some folks don%26#39;t like crowds so you%26#39;ll see negative remarks for August. More people, more fun or could be more people more hassle. Is the cup have empty or half full?

This will be the first year we will be going the first week in Sept. but I would rather go in August. The weather is beautiful.

I beg the differ on the 1st week of September. It is just as good as anytime in August with a discount room rate. I plan going the same week this year..

Thanks everybody for all your remarks... We are going April 11 to the 18th (right after the Marlin tournament)... The rates we are paying for the condo actually go down this week so we even saved some money! I can%26#39;t wait... I%26#39;m not one to complain... We just feel blessed that we are able to make memories with our children and give them a nice little vacation in the sun %26amp; sand ya know??
