Is anything open in late April. suggestions on hotels

I%26#39;m from the burb%26#39;s of philly. Never been to OC. My mom%26#39;s 53rd birthday is April 27. We want to spend the weekend in the Oc but we don%26#39;t want to be bored. Is there a hotel that is reasonably priced and clean, that some one can sugguest. Are there any close by shopping malls.

i haven%26#39;t stayed in OC for MANY years, so can%26#39;t help with the hotel question.

however...drive north on route 1 up to rehoboth %26amp; you will find outlet malls galore! ALL kinds of stores, well known...LL bean, eddie bauer, linen stores, kitchen stores, luggage, china, music %26amp; movies.... you name it it%26#39;s there. and TAX FREE...no sales tax in delaware!

rehoboth also has an absolutely marvelous shopping area right in town...more ';unique'; shops %26amp; restaurants. books, jewelry, clothing, pet stuff....little independently owned shops that are VERY nice! concentrated on rehoboth avenue %26amp; the two blocks north %26amp; south of ';the avenue';, %26amp; the little ';mews'; that run between them.

here%26#39;s a link that will give you a small idea about rehoboth shopping

baltimoresun.com/travel/…

which of course doesn%26#39;t even include the wonderful shops in the town proper...

ok, i%26#39;ll shut up now LOL

Why do you need to drive to Rehoboth beach when you have a better place in Ocean City. Don%26#39;t understand last 2 post in why you need to go to Delaware to shop. OC has the boardwalk which will be open ( I know, I was just there over Easter weekend) with shops, food and arcades for the kids. The tram will be going also for those longer walks if need help. The outlets over the 50 bridge are much closer than Rehoboth. There is no need to go out of town for things to do. Everything will be open and in full force late April.

I forgot the link to the hotel page for OC.com

Tidelands or Park Place or Haven Hotel I recommend. Those 3 are down near the inlet where most shopping can be done, As you get to the higher street numbers the less shopping on the boarwalk. have fun....

You can check for available rooms on this site.

Reasonable has many deinitions to many people. Tough to pick a place to stay without a better idea of your price range for a hotel.

I ran your dates of travel on the above site and one hotel that I would suggest would be the Dunes Manor HOTEL. Not motel.

Their price is $135 per night is that resonable? They are ocean front, ocated on 28th street, have an indoor pool, restaurant located in the hotel, and a very good reputation for satisfied visitors.

If you are looking for something less costly then run the dates of your travel check to see what is available and then give us a chance to give you our opinions on what your choices are.

Shopping if you plan to spent some $$$$ then go to Rehobeth to save on the taxes. You can visit both outlets the OC version is just a short ride to get to. You could also visit Rehobeth BEACH on your way back to OC after shopping.

For breakfast visit the bayside skillet on the bay in the 70%26#39;s you can%26#39;t miss the PINK building.

lunch or dinner try BJ%26#39;s at 75 and the bay.

Fager%26#39;s Island for lunch or dinner 60th and the bay.

Seacrets bar and restaurant located on 49th and the bay for lunch or a crowded place for a drink at night.

I am sure you will not be BORED.

Hit the Boardwalk, breakfast, lunch and dinner, drinks, shopping, take a ride to Bethany, Rehobeth, for a visit.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MOM!!!!!!

The stowaway grand hotel on the boardwalk is a decent place - i have stayed their several times. With regard to what to do/what open - assuming the weather is nice alof will be open on the weekend, plenty to do at the boardwalk %26amp; throughout.

I recommend BJ%26#39;s, Fagers Island or Nicks House of Ribs - they have great steaks and seafood.

tfunky, i have BEEN to ocean city a number of times in the past few years...just haven%26#39;t stayed there. since the original poster specifically asked about shopping, i thought i%26#39;d mention rehoboth...no sales tax is a big draw for many people.

also, since it seems to be their first trip to the area, i thought they might enjoy the drive %26amp; seeing the different towns, since all of them are so different in character.
