Can we have a taste of American western style life?

My wife and I want to have a taste of American western style life for one or two days during the Memorial day weekend. But we could not find such a place, stables or farms that provide such services. We kind of want to live as cowboys, try those normal cowboy jobs in farms, etc.

Can anyone help me about this? Are there any places in Frederick or around within several hours driving that we can go?

Try to call some of the local horse farms. Not sure there are any like the kind you%26#39;re talking about, but I%26#39;m sure that some private farm owners wouldn%26#39;t mind having some free help!

It isn%26#39;t exactly living like a cowboy, but Marriott owns a working cattle ranch in Hume, VA called the Marriott Ranch (www.marriottranch.com). It is a bed and breakfast that has all kinds of programs associated with the ranch, and I would bet they have a program that would allow you to work the ranch while you are there.

Hume, VA is located off of I-66 in VA, probably about 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Frederick, MD.
