Towson area hotel question

I just booked a block of rooms for my girls lacrosse team for a tournament weekend in early June. The tournament we%26#39;re attending is huge and has caused sellouts at many of the hotels I tried to book, so we ended up at the Comfort Inn in Towson, which has received mixed reviews (and downright poor reviews) on this site. Thirty families will not be happy with me if this hotel is a disaster, so I guess my question is: How bad is the Comfort Inn in Towson???

Also, are there any lacrosse team-friendly restaurants in the area or better yet in walking distance?

Thanks for your help!

Towson area hotel question

TTM,

Fill in the blank:

The reasons I have to doubt the reviews here on TripAdvisor are _________________ .

Can%26#39;t fill in the blank? I think you know the answer to your question. But it looks livable and if it%26#39;s the only hotel you can find, it%26#39;s the only hotel you can find. The mixed reviews likely mean that some rooms will be better than others, but all are probably better than sleeping on the street or in the car.

The Bel-Loc Diner, Pizza Hut and Applebee%26#39;s are all within about 1/2 mile and would be good choices for a youth sports team.

Towson area hotel question

Tubman,

Thanks for the response and for the restaurant tips. Believe me, I do trust the reviews on this site, I just know from personal experience that I don%26#39;t always bother to review places that are just ';okay.'; I usually have to really love it or really hate it to take the time to post a review. I%26#39;ll just keep my fingers crossed that all the people who thought the Comfort Inn was ';okay'; just never bothered to review it... After all, for $90 a night, ';okay'; is really all I%26#39;m looking for! Like you said, it beats sleeping in the car.

Where exactly is the lacrosse tournament? Baltimore is a big place. Is it at Towson? People that know the area might be able to suggest another hotel.

Terpfan,

Thanks for the response. The hub of the tournament is the Timonium Fairgrounds. I haven%26#39;t gotten any more specific info about what fields our team will actually be playing on, however, and I understand that the tournament covers a pretty large area. If we end up playing some place more than 30 minutes from the hotel, I will try to book something else, although we may not know far enough ahead of time to do it. This ';team mom'; stuff is harder than I thought!

Glory Days is a sports themed restuarant near your hotel. Near Towson U, are many sport themed/lax bars/restuarans. Across from the fairgrounds is a Chee Burger Chee Burger, which is fun for high school girls.

Timonium is close to Cockeysville, you could check their for hotels.
