My daugher is supposed to stay in the Commander Hotel and we booked an Oceanfront Suite, any opinions on this hotel? The reviews seemed good so I decided to give it a go.
Also, this is for my daughter and it looks as if it will be just two young women going on the trip and I was wondering if this is in a safe area for them or not?
Tips
We generally stay on the boardwalk on 19th Street, and the Commander always looks like a nice place when we pass it. The Commander is in a safe area in the right in the middle of the 2 1/2 mile family-oriented Boardwalk. There are crowds and traffic to be aware of, but not much ';riff raff'; is tolerated by the police in general. They should be fine in that area. Hope that helps!
Tips
O.C. is generally a low crime area. There are plenty of teenagers and young adults that live there for the summer and have summer jobs.
Commander is a good hotel. I would feel safe with my daughter staying there with friends. I stayed there in April this year, Ocean front suite are real nice great view. All of the boardwalk hotels are as safe as any up and down the boards, but you still need use common sense anywhere you go.
