Inner Harbor One Day Trip

Hello. I signed up at the local adult high school for their day trip to the Inner Harbor. All it is, is the trransportation back and forth from Jersey. I think we would arrive at 9:30 and stay till 6PM. I am coming with my 16 yr old son on a Saturday in May.

My questions: Will a 16 yr oold be entertained the entire time? We would be going to the Aquarium, how much time should we allot for that, and do I need to buy tickets prior to going to avoid a long line etc?

Since the tour bus only takes us there, I supose we can only really stay there..... unless we took a cab to places not near there.... I would be willing to do that if there was somethings worthwhile, and I would%26#39;nt feel pressed for time to get back to the harbor for our bus ride back home.

Any suggestions would be great.

He also likes seafood. Don%26#39;t want to go to the Hrd Rock want to go someplace unique but not too $$$$

Inner Harbor One Day Trip

is he interested in sports? the ';sports legends at camden yards'; is a terrific museum, %26amp; i%26#39;m pretty sure the price of admission will also get you into the babe ruth house museum. if there%26#39;s not a home game that day you can walk onto eutaw street %26amp; look at the ballpark.

history? fort McHenry might be interesting. you can get there on the water taxi.

he also might enjoy the science center (right in the harbor also).

weekend lines can be VERY long at the aquarium, so buying tickets in advance would be a good idea. have fun!

Inner Harbor One Day Trip

You would have plenty to do for the day and could prob. just stay in the Inner Harbor area. The lines can be long and getting your tickets ahead would help. Depending on whether you stay for the dolphin show and how crowded it is will determine how long you stay there-2 1/2- 3 hrs. You could go to the Maryland Science Center with the IMAX, ESPN Zone, You could take the water taxi over the Fells Point and have a seafood dinner in one of the restaurants there. At the inner harbor area there is the Rusty Scupper. I don%26#39;t recommend going to Phillips.

With kids I would do 2 or 3 of the following

Aquarium 1-2 hrs

Fort McHenry 1-2 hrs (take water taxi from Inner Harbor)

Science Center 1-2 hrs

Port Discovery ???

B%26amp;O Train Museum 1 hr

You could realistically walk to all of these attractions from one another.

thanks for the suggestions. We are going May 19, so I have a lot of ideas now and am really looking forward to this day. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I will let you all know what we wound up doing.

There is also the U.S.S. Constellation which was the last wooden fighting ship built for the U.S. Navy. They%26#39;ll probably have some reenactors on-board to tell you about the ship. I don%26#39;t know if your son would be interested in that or not.
