Hi everyone, my boyfriend and i are thinking of coming to OCMD for the first time. My question is....is this the kind of place where a 20yr and a 24 year old can have fun? Besides the beach are there any other things to do. I%26#39;m really looking for a place where we can have fun and just enjoy ourselves with plenty of nice restaurants. So do you think this is the place? Or is the more so a place for families?
Thanks in advance for all the advice

Oh my, OC is for all ages and yes 20yr and 24 yr can really enjoy OC. There is so much to do but I%26#39;ll try to name a few for your ages. Lets start with amusement at Jolly Rogers, arcades, shops and beach style resturants on the boardwalk. Beach or pool during the day or held out to Seacrets for the day for a Bahama theme resort. All ages can go to Seacrets during the day but evenings need to be 21.
Plenty of all-you-can eat seafood buffets:
Phillips, Embers, Halls to name a few
Jetski on the bayside
walk the boardwalk
ride bikes in the morning on the boardwalk
Thrashers fries
Brewster ice-cream
if you need more let me know but don%26#39;t worry you have plenty to do...

Hi thanks for responding to my post.. would you have anywhere that you would recommend staying at? Someplace close to the beach, and a pool on site. Thanks again
I also read somewhere from another post that OCMD is not really a place where there is a wide variety of cultures. One lady said she felt as if she wasn%26#39;t given the right attention because she wasn%26#39;t white. I%26#39;m not intending anything racial, i just want to know if this is the case? Would an african american person feel uncomfortable here? thanks
I would need your price range and when you plan to stay.
Park Place and Tidelands are reall nice place but can get pricy during the peek season. Both have pools and are on the boardwalk.
Here is a link of OC web page for other hotels and resturants:

I never got the impression of the people in OC, most hotel staff are foreign workers. And they seem real nice to me.
Not really a place for 20 somethings. It%26#39;s a family place. If you are looking for diversity, try Rehobeth beach in DE.

What are you talking about.???? Seacrets, Part Block,Purple Moose,Red Snapper,Flanagans%26#39;,Hooters and all the beach looks and stuff around that. I just named a few hot spots for 20 year olds to hang out at not too mention all the amusements too. Rehobeth is no way better than OC in any stretch. Just the facts, Rehobeth is for other types of people.
responding to several posts here.
fashionista...our neighbor has a condo in OC %26amp; was just there last weekend %26amp; he was commenting on the WIDE variety of ethnic groups he saw. i have no way to speak to that question first-hand, but i would sincerely HOPE you wouldn%26#39;t feel uncomfortable there or be treated badly (or any worse than a ';white'; person would LOL...assuming it was just a place with bad service altogether! sometimes it%26#39;s just equal opportunity bad service!)
GARDENSPLAZA%26#39;s response is preposterous. OC is a MECCA for 20 somethings. all those BARS aren%26#39;t meant for the families!
%26amp; i%26#39;m a bit bemused by tfunky%26#39;s response. sorry, funky, but in some ways OC is better, in other ways rehoboth is better. and yes, rehoboth is more welcoming to diversity of all kinds...but i wouldn%26#39;t say it%26#39;s ';for other types of people';. sure, there%26#39;s a large gay population there.(part of what makes it so great, IMO...they run very creative shops %26amp; restaurants!) ..but there are also families, married couples, people of all kinds who live there year round. it%26#39;s more a ';real town'; than ocean city, with a larger year-round population %26amp; more charming residential areas, more upscale dining %26amp; shopping.
OC is better for the bigger boardwalk with more amusements %26amp; more wild bars %26amp; more jaw-dropping people-watching.
point taken DOGMOM, I do understand your last post.
I have been going to OC for 20 years. I have seen all people of all races, sizes and shapes have a good time. In general the restaurant industry staff in OC is efficient and friendly. It has something to offer for everyone. Kids are guaranteed a good time with miniature golf everywhere, rides on the boardwalk. Take a trip to Assatteague Island and see the horses. http://www.nps.gov/asis/
Jet ski, parasail, water slide, or go to the Old West Town on the other side of the bridge. Plenty of good restaurants and their is a great night life. If you do not have a great time at OC, you are not trying.
Hmmm. Ocean city is not a good place for 20 year olds? Theres a reason why they call it the ';drunk bus'; at night. You will see a wide variety of mix of people during the day and at the boardwalk till about 10pm, then its all 20- 30 year olds at nighttime.
