Easton or St. Michaels

Hi everyone,

I just posted the same question to the Easton forum so we%26#39;ll see if I get different responses - thanks for your help:

Hi there - we are going to a jazz concert in a couple of weeks at the Avalon and are wondering which place to stay in: Easton or St. Michaels. We will only be staying one night (Sat.) and all the B%26amp;Bs in Easton have minimum stays of two nights on the weekends. So I booked the Tidewater Inn. Then I read a few things that make me think we may not want to stay there.

So, I also booked the St. Michael%26#39;s Harbour Inn - for quite a bit more but there%26#39;s a water view.

Aside from accomodations, are either of these towns a good place to stay at, walk around in, etc? What are their differences?

Also, if others have better suggestions for places to stay, I%26#39;d certainly be interested in hearing them. Thanks!

Easton or St. Michaels

St Michaels is a very laid back historic park with an excelleent marine museum .The museum is worth the trip itself.

Easton or St. Michaels

St. Michael%26#39;s would be my choice hands down. It is a very quaint, water oriented town. We enjoy taking our boat there and walking around the town, dining, and just enjoying its small town feel. While the downtown section of Easton is quaint, it is otherwise a very commercialized town. If you stayed in Easton, you would probably end up driving to St. Michaels anyway.

Plus (not to beat a dead horse) but I stayed at the Tidewater Inn and had a MISERABLE experience. Terrrible customer service, noisy rooms, and just generally run down.

I definately agree with St. Michaels. We stop there every summer for a night or two by boat. Love the town and the shops!

st.michaels wins hands-down! great food, great water, great town and even greater locals(people). nothing like waking up to the low hum of a watermans boat working a crab line, getting a cup of coffee and watching the slow pace of the eastern shore
