my husband and I will be in Hagerstown overnight next month and I have alot of trouble with spicy food. are there any really good home cooking diners around this area? we are headed to Gordonsville Va then on to yorktown and williamsburg that same week. any good tips?

there is a authentic German restaurant in downtown Hagerstown. It%26#39;s been 2 years, and the name is escaping me, but ask at your hotel and they%26#39;ll know the name. It is well known and easy to find.

Try the Crazy Horse Steak House. It is the absolute best! Best crab cakes I have ever eaten, and the steaks are devine! They have a great variety of food, not just a steakhouse, and the atmosphere is delightful. It is easy to find, near the mall behind the Hyuandi dealership.

If it%26#39;s not too late the German Restuuarant is the Schmankerl Stube Bavarian Rest. As anoyther post on VT said : ';My mother, a native Bavarian, says that this is the best German food she`s had in America! Yes, it`s that good. Charlie creates a menu and atmosphere that brings me back to Nuremburg... Many people often drive the 1 + hours from Baltimore or Washington DC with this place in mind.... I completely recommend it! They have genuine (local) Bavarian dunkel heffeweisen on tap!! It`s a good thing I could stumble home from here. Locals who have trouble remembering how to pronounce it call it the `spank me stupid` restaurant. LOL!';
