Hi,
I%26#39;m not sure where to post this question, because it is a bit of a broad one, so I will probably post it in a couple other state forums too.
There are so many amusement parks in this area of the US that I%26#39;m hoping to pick the best one...
I know everyone has their own opinion, but any personal advice from someone who has been to most or all of them would really help because they would be able to provide me with a balanced answer! :)
We%26#39;re willing to travel to the best park, so I%26#39;m looking for the best of the following:
Six Flags New England
Six Flags Lake George (New York)
Six Flags Great Adventure (New Jersey)
Six Flags America (Maryland)
Dorney Park
Hershey Park
Kennywood
King%26#39;s Dominion
By best park, I mean rides worth the wait (I%26#39;m sure lines will be long anywhere), good rollercoasters, and a relatively clean, nice looking park.
As well, we%26#39;d like to go to one of the waterparks, though not necessarily on the same trip - which one has the best waterpark? I know not all have them but if anyone has been to any, which would you pick first? Looking for the cleanest, too!
Thanks so much to anyone with some advice!! :)
Best Amusement Park??
Six Flags NJ
Hershey Park
Kings Dominion
Don%26#39;t go to Six Flags Maryland
Also, where will you be coming from to go these parks? If you are going to be in say NY Then go to the parks within a few hours drive from there.
Best Amusement Park??
We will be coming from Jersey, but we really don%26#39;t mind driving down to as far as Virginia etc., because it%26#39;s not actually that far and we are always glad to leave Jersey for a break. :) Nice to see other other places!!
Coming from NJ, I would say go to Great Adventure, Hershey Park or Dorney Park. These are all the easiest drives.
If you are looking for more of an historic amusement park, and are willing to make the almost 7 hour drive from NJ to Pittsburgh, I highly recommend Kennywood. It is a classic!
dctravel,
Which would you say has the best roller coasters?
Kennywood has the classic wooden coasters. They are a ton of fun, and the type that can be ridden over and over again.
Great Adventure has more of the steel ';six flags'; coasters that are both bigger and faster.
I like both, but personally prefer the quaint nature of Kennywood over Great Adventure.
