Probably very crowded and noisy correct? Has anyone ever stayed over that holiday weekend, and is it worth it? Thanks.
Assateague Island - camping Memorial Day weekend
I assume you do mean in Maryland.
We%26#39;ve only camped on the Bay side in the Federal part of the campground. The beach camping is much more crowded. I would think it could get a little noisy anytime in the summer.
I don%26#39;t think the camping on the bay side would be that bad. Big sites. Some of them open on to the water. We%26#39;ve only been camping there in April.
Assateague Island - camping Memorial Day weekend
We%26#39;ve camped on the beach side of the Maryland State Park several times on Memorial Day weekend and it%26#39;s never been any different than any other weekend. We camp in a tent so we don%26#39;t stay in the loop at the end of the campground where the sites are smaller and closer together. The park will be full on Memorial Day weekend, just like it will be for the rest of the summer. If you don%26#39;t already have a reservation, it might be too late to get one. Assateague is not a wild and crazy sort of place at any time. The rangers don%26#39;t hesitate to tell you to quiet down if you%26#39;re making noise after 11:00pm.
The weather on Memorial Day weekend can range anywhere from very cold and rainy to temperatures in the 90s. It%26#39;s impossible to predict.
i%26#39;d take a ';screen house'; if you can, especially if you end up bayside. by memorial day...it could be very buggy! depends on which way the breeze is blowing, which is impossible to predict. we have camped bayside with NO bugs...and camped oceanside with HORDES of them...you just never know.
but noise is rarely a problem. all the times we camped there....only ONCE did we have a problem with noise, and it was only one campsite producing the noise.
instant karma got %26#39;em, though. :-P
