Will be celebrating anniversary weekend in Baltimore this May. What is the best area/hotels? Nice/romantic dining? Want to stay in an area near bar/pubs and restaurants. Price of accomadations not as important as the location. Thanks for any suggestions and information.
Anniversary stay in BaltimoreWhich weekend? Be aware that the Preakness is May 19th this year and it may be difficult to find anything decent at this late date...
There are areas of bars and pubs all over town. You might enjoy Fells Point, look into the reviews for Henderson%26#39;s Wharf and see if it suits you.
Otherwise, all of the chains are well-represented downtown, with the Harbor Court and Rennasaince (which I can never spell correctly lol) being probably two of the ';best'; in town imo.
Anniversary stay in BaltimoreOur favorite restaurant in the city is Louisiana. Its in Fells Point. Nice, romantic atmosphere and great food.
snow06,
You%26#39;ll want to try Henderson%26#39;s Wharf Inn. The Fells Point location fits your other requirements perfectly; the hotel is small and charming and according to reviews, responds very well to special occasions. The Fells Point location is perfect for dining and bar hopping...
Since $ is not an obstacle you should try The Harbor Court- great Inner Harbor location, beautiful hotel, with restaurants to match. Check out their web site. You would then be walkable to area attractions, including Power Plant Live with dancing, bars and restaurants. Prev. recommendation for Fells Point also good one.
Hey,
Good luck with the anniversary.
Plenty of things to do in Baltimore, MD.
I recomend The Renaissance Harborplace Hotel. Great location, plenty of shops and tours and such. My review of the hotel is below.

If I could recomend a fantastic place to dine, try Sotto Sopra, my wife and I love this resturant (I proposed to my wife at this resturant).
website is http://www.sottosoprainc.com/
Other then that, I%26#39;d try Little Italy for dining, plenty of good places to eat.
Good Luck, happy anniversary!
Greg
Anywhere in the Inner Harbor area will suit your needs. That will put you within walking distance of the Inner Harbor, Camden Yards, Federal Hill and Power Plant Live.
Fells Point and Little Italy are only a short cab ride away and have several restaurant and bars.
You also might want to check out Mt. Vernon and Mt. Royal area for restaurant and pubs and are both easily reached by the Light Rail.
Hamden might also be a good place to check out for some shopping. It%26#39;s also available from the Light Rail, but it%26#39;s a short walk from there.
I%26#39;m a bit curious, why did you choose Baltimore for your Anniversary weekend???
Great places to eat-
Capital Grill -location Pratt Street fine dining (Nice but expensive)
Pazo- location- Fells Point-Mediterranean style- voted best date spot! (What a great place for an anniversary.- I love it here! very eclectic menu!)
Cia Bella-location Little Italy- Italian yummy!
All of the above are less then a 5 min taxi ride from the Inner Harbor and all of the downtown hotels!
Thanks for all the suggestions. I have reserved at the Renaissance for the weekend of the 4th and 5th. We chose Baltimore because we wanted a location that was within a two hour flight from Chicago and somewhere we have not visited. The Harbor was attractive and my wife loves crab cakes, but not the versions we get in the midwest. I was not sure if we would prefer Fells Point or the Inner Harbor, but it sounds as if they are close enough that we can easily enjoy both. Thanks again for all the recommendations!
Fell%26#39;s point is about a five dollar cab ride. I think you%26#39;ll enjoy your stay.
A noted bonus, your wife will get to do some nice shopping as the gallary mall is attached to the hotel.
Have a fun and safe trip!
Greg
