hilton

We are planning a July trip and the Hilton looks like the nicest place so far. The price is quite high, is it worth it? Are there any other hotel similar but less expensive? We like an updated hotel, resort style pool area and very clean. Please let me know what fits this or is the hilton the only one. It really is pricey. Thanks for the help.

The Hilton is the newest large scale hotel in OC....it is upscale with great pools. With this, drives the price. It is not on the boardwalk...it is about 6-8 blocks up the beach from the end of the boardwalk.

Other very nice upscale hotels, though not as new, include the Holiday Inn near 17th street and the Dunes Manor.

We stayed at the Hilton 2 weeks ago and it is really nice. We were able to get one of the end king suites. Decor is great. Bathroom is great. View is great. Pool is great. The price is really high but you are getting what you pay. If the price keeps you from enjoying the rest of your stay it is not worth it though.

I meant to say ';getting what you pay for.';

pretty much anything on the boadwalk is pricy this time of the year. If you wish to cut cost you%26#39;ll need to look off boardwalk or bayside. Mid June to Labor day you cold pay 225 -300 a night. Try: oceancity.com

and seach hotels you might be able to find something you like.

The Hilton rooms are very nice, but I don%26#39;t think the services are worth the price.

I stayed last year after they opened and had a number of issues, specifically, SECURITY!!!!

Upon checkout my bill was left outside of my door, FACE UP with all of my identifying information.

Further, parking was awful at night. There were numerous locals parking in the Hilton garage. They were not even staying at the facility. There were people changing in the garage!!!

The breakfast at the restaurant had awful service as well. We waited FOREVER for basically cereal and fruit.

My suggestion is to beware the overpriced season with this hotel.

Maybe the Princess Royale? From what I remember, it had a resort style to it with a large pool area, hot tubs, outdoor %26amp; indoor bars, etc. But I haven%26#39;t been there in years so I%26#39;m not sure if it%26#39;s changed much since then.

Thank you for your input everyone! From all your advice I decided to book the Hilton and bite the bullet!! It%26#39;s $459 per night but it%26#39;s better than a bad stay at a cheap hotel, that can ruin the entire vacation. They do not even accept AAA discount or any others. If any one knows any other discount sites please let me know. I tried all the known ones...Expedia, cheap tickets, etc.
