Best hotel to stay with children

Ok, I am looking for the best and most awesome kid-friendly hotel. I am looking for a place with a large pool and activities for the children. I VA beach, one of the hotels has a lazy river for the kids and I like that idea a lot. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

What%26#39;s your price range?

If price is no problem then the new Hilton or the the Holiday Inn on 17th St. would be your two best choices for hotels that have kids%26#39; activities pools. Both get excellent ratings here on TA. The one advantage of the Holiday Inn is that it is located on the boardwalk which extends north to 27th St. The Hilton is located on 32nd St. Most of the restaurants, shops, activities and amusement rides on the boardwalk start around 5th St. and extend south to the inlet.

Well, I didn%26#39;t want to pay more than $300 a night and both of those hotels are over 400 so I guess they are not an option. There were 2 that I came across last night -

1. Quality Inn Beachfront looks pretty fun. Unfortunately they have new owners effective 1/16 so we can%26#39;t reserve until then - and not to mention there%26#39;s no telling what the rates will be.

2. Francis Scott Key Family Resort - while this is not on the beach (we really did want oceanfront though), it looks very family oriented and they have a free shuttle to take you to and from the beach/boardwalk. I dont know how much of a pain that will be though.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

I would recommend the Castle in the Sands for being on the ocean and activities

I would not recommend the Francis Scott Key, esp with kids. Not only is not oceanfront, it is right on Rt 50, [ the main road into OC } , and quite a distance away from the boardwalk, and water.

I agree with Anga, you will not want to be on Rt 50 at the Francis Scott Key Inn.....too far from the beach. What a hassle to take the shuttle and then be caught up in OC traffic coming back from the beach.

I would suggest hotels on the boards and the ones with pools. I%26#39;m not familar with any that has special kids activities, but if your on the boards you can get on the boardwalk or hit the pool many times a day to keep the kids busy. I%26#39;ve stayed at the Tidelands on 5th, very large rooms, clean with a rooftop and lower level pool. Lower level pool has resturant and bar right there. Plus being on 5th st puts you near all the activities on the boardwalk.

The FSK Resort is the place for families. I%26#39;ve stayed there and had no problems driving to town or with the shuttle. It%26#39;s difficult getting a room at this place because it%26#39;s so popular. CHeck out their website and see for yourself. I%26#39;m going back in August.

No activities for the kids, but we love The Grand. Its right on the quiet part of the board, close to the bike rental place, and close to the tram down to the pier for rides.
