Best Italian food in OC

I come from an area of North East PA wher the Italian food is excellent. So when I vacation, I am usually disappointed in Italian restaurants. Should I waste my time going to an Italian Restaurant in On or should I stick to seafood (I love crab).

We are huge fans of DiFebo%26#39;s; best Italian we%26#39;ve had in the entire Delmarva region, not just at the beaches. I%26#39;ve never done Fresco%26#39;s.

I%26#39;ve done Antipasti%26#39;s sister restaurant, Fausto%26#39;s, on the north end. I believe the menus are the same. Good, but not as good as DiFebo%26#39;s.

And Fausto%26#39;s is more expensive that DiFebo%26#39;s--that%26#39;s not to slam Antipasti, just that their operating costs are higher in Ocean City than DiFebo%26#39;s are on the highway out of Bethany. (And there%26#39;s no sales tax on your meal--or anything else--in Delaware.)

I%26#39;m also from NE PA and it is very hard to find good Italian food at the beach, I always stick with seafood since we don%26#39;t have very many good ones in NEPA.(seafood rest.)

Fresco%26#39;s is really good. After your meal walk next door to the Martini Bar for the rest of the night and have martini%26#39;s and drinks on the back deck on the bay.

Any thoughts out there on Salvatore%26#39;s, across bridge %26amp; down from Hoopers on 50. Have had several meals there through the years, always though the food was excellent (great seafood alfredo) but service could be hit or miss. Sometimes long waites for table, other times none %26amp; same w/ food service (although really not much of a bother, in no hurry while on vacation). Skipped it last year, anyone been there recently to see how your experience was? thanks

I googled the Salvatore%26#39;s, there is a web site. The choices certainly look interesting and moderately priced. I think we will give it a try when we are in OC in August.
